Q: HOW SOON AFTER PROTECTING CAN ITEMS BE USED?
A: Items can be used 4-6 hours after application, but ideally left overnight.
Q: DOES MICROSEAL HAVE AN ODOUR?
A: Yes, there is a slight odour during application that is not detectable once cured. We recommend that you are not in the room during treatment as it is applied as a fine mist spray.
Q: I’VE HAD A PROTECTOR BEFORE, WHAT MAKES MICROSEAL BETTER?
A: Microseal is a penetrator, not a coater. Coaters are hard and break up easily (upon manipulation or cleaning) becoming dirt traps that can make the fabric more difficult to clean than if it had no protection at all. Microseal penetrates the individual fibres forming a “flexible” barrier that does not break up. Microseal actually helps to strengthen fibres.
Q: How does Microseal resist wear and abrasion?
A: Treated fibres are more resistant to wear and abrasion because soil must wear off the protection before causing wear on the fibres. Similarly, fabric fibres must wear off the protective MicroSeal penetrator before they can wear on each other. This “wear resistance” promotes longer textile and fabric life and less frequent replacement.
Q: What can the Microseal Formula be used on?
A: Virtually every type of fibrous textile including wool, cotton, nylon, polyester blends, silk, natural suede, synthetic suede and even smooth finished leather. You can have all types of items protected including fine furniture, oriental rugs, carpets, curtains, interiors of boats, planes and cars and patio garden furniture.
Q: Is Microseal colourfast?
A: Yes! Microseal will not change the colour, texture or feel of any type of fabric. What’s more, if accidently over sprayed on wood, glass, tile or metal it will not damage the finish and is easily wiped away. Microseal doesn’t contain water so it cannot promote shrinkage or colour change.
Q: My carpet was protected at the mill; can I still have it Microseal protected?
A: Yes, Microseal can be applied on top of every type of mill treated fabric protector with no negative side effects.Microseal is an added advantage to an already mill treated carpet because it is a better sealant, longer lasting and provides significant UV protection on most fabrics.
